So we went back to Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a real place with cute little shops just like the ones in the book. You can google it for photos. Browyn Crewse goes well with the ice cream shop and try a wonderful new taste. But the city faces problems as plans for a new shopping center threaten other shops. Revival or gentrification? And is Win’s unique ice cream part of the problem?

After the meeting in the village, an official of the development company was found dead. Bean’s friend Macy, who wants another case, thinks the detective wants to solve it. I enjoyed the first book so I found this book interesting. But it kind of fell apart in the middle. There are so many characters, some come in and some go out. Aunt Jack’s plot was also disrupted and it was hard to perceive the danger she was facing.

Vin’s girlfriend, Rory, is in town and considering moving back to New York. He is behaving strangely and is suspected of murder. Maisie’s excess energy was getting on my nerves. He recklessly accused everyone and obstructed the investigation. Anyone who likes crime mysteries should know that accusing someone right away doesn’t work. I loved the ice cream scene and Vin’s unique blend of flavors. I also liked the idea that his store contributed to gentrification. But in the end, I didn’t care what the crime revealed. Because I guessed it earlier. But I think Abby Collette did a good job here. We need to tone down Maisie a bit and not fill the story with too many elements. I’m also looking forward to the next episode
